When you first read the script for Trade, what were your initial thoughts?

Alicja Bachleda-Curus: First of all, I was very surprised, positively surprised, that they were willing to do a movie about such an important subject that's still considered to be a Hollywood movie in a way. It's pretty brave ... this story of this girl who's coming from another country to America, and everything that happens to her actually happens here. I wasn't aware that, actually, in a state like New Jersey or New York, those auctions might be even possible. I was so shocked that there's no law and there's no special control that can actually stop this process. First of all, I was very happy that this film was brave enough to talk about those topics, and, on the other hand, I was very surprised that those things are happening here
