predicate
In the UK, the range of offences that are regarded as "predicate" offences for the purposes of money laundering is much wider than in other countries. "Predicate" offences are those that generate the proceeds of crime. The definition of predicate offences in the UK is much more stringent than that recommended by The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which is widely regarded as setting the parameters within which member countries frame their laws.
